Object Description

A dark green jar of medium thickness; broad low rounded-bellied body with wide hollowed base; short neck opening out to form rounded flange with funnel-shaped mouth. Incised festoon-like decoration over the whole body. Really rare item.

Object History

From the extraordinary Collection of Sir Daniel Donohue. The majority of Sir Donohue’s collection of ancient art masterpieces was formed before March 1968, the date of his wife, Countess Bernardine’s, death.
