Object Description
A pair of cast brass Brighton Bun Candlesticks with large dishes. We have seen a few examples of this manufacture of travelling candlestick before but the dishes have typically been 1 inch or more smaller in diameter. Compared to most English Brighton Buns the dishes are much shallower. Consequently the diameter of the sconce is also smaller to enable the 2 dishes to screw together for travel. The sconce is shaped to its column and decorated with ring turning which is echoed to both the interior and exterior of the dishes. The candlesticks were probably made in Scandinavian. Late 19th Century.
Size for Use is Given
