Scythian Gold Horse Appliqué

Object Description

A Scythian gold sheet appliqué mount depicting a stylised horse, bearing a saddle and with rope bands attached to its the body. The applique has been made using the repoussé technique.

Date: Circa 6th – 5th century BC

Object Condition

Very fine condition. Some wear to the edges. Tarnish covers some of the surface.
