Object Description

Circa 1880, set of 12 Scottish early Victorian mahogany dining chairs, consisting of 10 side chairs and 2 arm chairs. With deep curved top rail decorated with beading and a C scroll above a shaped and smaller rail, which is all held in place by a fluted upright that continues down to form the back legs. With large stuffover seats, and a serpentine shaped rail, and the arm chairs have shaped arms finishing in a shepherd crook end. The armchairs have a good width of 50cm, and they all strands on ring turned, tulip topped front legs, finishing on brass and patent brown porcelain castors
