This very fine suite of nesting tables was made in England in the early twentieth century, and provides a pleasing combination of practicality and antique and vintage style. With two pairs of turned legs to each piece, marked with a series of circular gilt bands, the rear set are connected with a pair of wooden stretchers that align upon folding. The three smaller tables have a rectangular table top surface, each progressively smaller in size, while the largest outer table has a more ornate, curved broader surface, appropriate to its position. A charming set, the pieces are inlaid with a simple ebonised wood geometric pattern, that adds a delightful touch of antique, particularly Edwardian, style and class.
