Object Description
Set of six Birmingham coloured enamel and silver spoons
English, 1933
Spoon: Length 10cm, width 3cm
Case: Height 2cm, width 16cm, depth 13cm
This beautiful set of spoons is by the English silversmiths Turner and Simpson. The silver spoons feature the distinctive decoration of guilloché enamel to the outside their bowls: each spoon is adorned with enamel of a different colour, all above the guilloché silver. The end of the handle of each is affixed with a ball of a conforming colour. Each spoon is hallmarked for the silversmith, and each also bears the Birmingham date mark of 1933. The spoons are held within a fitted case.
