Object Description
Set of Cecil Aldin Bluemarket Races Prints.
This is one of Cecil Aldin’s most famous racing series ‘The Bluemarket Races’, which tells the story of a day at the races and is very reminiscence of his set of hunting prints ‘The Fallowfield Hunt’. This is a sequence of six pictures, – On the Road, The Arrival on the Course, The start, Between the Races, The Finish & Homewards. These original lithograph prints are unframed but in new mounts and all with titles. As with a lot of Aldin’s pictures there are touches of humour and this is a great set of horse racing pictures with great colouring, published by Lawrence & Bullen Ltd, London.
