A mahogany Ship’s Decanter Shelf.
The shelf has three cutouts to the top shelf to support a bottle to the middle with a glass either side. The diameter for the decanter is 5 inches with the glasses 2 3/4 inches each. In stormy seas the glassware would be protected from tipping. The uprights of the shelves are shaped and were fixed to the bulkhead by mirror plates. The shelves are rebated into the uprights and fixed with screws. Mid 19th Century.
