This elegant writing set, illustrative of late Russian Tsarist style and sophistication, consists of a pen handle, a mechanical pencil, and a brush, and was made in Moscow around the turn of the twentieth century. A similar style of intricate and elegant decoration is featured along the length the length of both pens and across the back of the brush, consisting of whimsical swirls in blue, light blue, and white, red floral motifs, and green lines extending down the pen. The end of the decoration on each stylus is capped with comparable bands, and the same rings of white dots.
Fully marked with the maker’s mark in Cyrillic, ‘IX’, the set comes in a fitted-case.
