Object Description
Silver-gilt and guilloché enamel cane in the style of Fabergé
Continental, 20th Century
Height 87cm, diameter 2.5cm
This 20th century walking stick is in the style of Fabergé and embodies the elegance synonymous with the firm.
The finely detailed handle is adorned with light blue guilloché enamel that beautifully highlights the intricate metalwork beneath. Ornate silver-gilt foliate scrolls gracefully frame the enamelled surface, while a reeded band, decorated with delicate leaf motifs, adds further refinement.
A diamond is set into the top, lending a radiant sparkle to this luxurious collectible. Below, the hardwood shaft provides contrast to the elaborate handle, culminating in a metal ferrule.
This exceptional piece echoes the opulent creations of the famed Fabergé firm, which flourished under the leadership of Peter Carl Fabergé (Russian, 1846–1920). Best known for producing exquisite objets d’art, including picture frames and walking sticks, Fabergé’s masterpieces were highly prized by European aristocracy, with Russian Tsars among their most esteemed patrons.
The band is marked with a spurious Cyrillic ‘MP’ stamp, accompanied by two additional Russian hallmarks.
With its refined aesthetic and imperial charm, this walking stick is an outstanding acquisition for collectors of Russian decorative art.
