Silver Plate Commemorating the Royal Marriage of Princess Anne and Mark Phillips

This fine silver plate was made in 1973 to commemorate the royal marriage of Princess Anne and Mark Phillips. Of circular form, the cabinet plate is engraved with bust portraits in profile of the wedded couple. The plate is dated ’14-XI-1973′ to the top, for the 14th of November 1973, and signed ‘Pietro Amigoni’ for the artist of the engraving.
To the reverse, the plate is fully hallmarked for Roberts & Doré, an English silversmith firm founded in 1908 that produced special commissions for governments and royalty across the globe. The plate is numbered 253 out of a limited edition production of 2,000, and is accompanied by a fine fitted case and letter of authenticity.
