A fine George III period timepiece table clock, of rare small size.
The 5 x 7-inch break arch brass dial has a raised silvered brass dial, cast brass corner spandrels and a beautiful painted and engraved revolving moondisc in the arch.
The elegant small ebonised belltop case stands on four brass ogee feet and has elaborately case brass sound frets to the front and each side.
The 8-day timepiece single fusee movement shows the phases of the moon and has an alarm mechanism with a bell. The foliate backplate is stunningly engraved with an oriental pavilion set amidst scrolls of foliage.
