Object Description
A small mahogany Scottish longcase clock dating to around 1850 of excellent light colour. The case has a dome top hood, with a figured mahogany wavy top door, reeded quarter columns and a fielded figured base. It has a brass bezel with a hand blown convex glass, a white enamel dial showing the seconds and date, with all the original matching hands and is signed by the maker James McOwen of Crieff. The 8 day movement sounds the hours on a bell. James Mc Owan is listed as working in Creiff around 1860.
