Chinese 13th century Longquan celadon rounded globular jar. late southern Song or early Yuan celadon with the typical olive green glaze on a traditional shape and style jar.
the rounded lip to the rim is found on many late Southern Song Pieces as well as Early Yuan. Either side on the neck are two prominent lug handles where the cloth or wadding on the rim was tied down.
Under the glaze there is a feint raised pattern
The base is slightly concave and is unglazed as is the area immediately above the base.
A good early example of this type of wear.
