An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Edwardian sterling silver and enamel vesta case; an addition to our enamal and silverware collection
This exceptional and large antique Edwardian sterling silver vesta case has a plain rectangular rounded form.
The anterior surface is embellished with a fine rectangular hot enamel design depicting the king of hearts playing card above the date ‘June 26th 1902’.
This fine sterling silver vesta case has a hinged cover which incorporates a plain thumbpiece to the anterior edge and is surmounted with a hallmarked ring loop attachment.
The cover is ornamented with further enamel decoration illustrating the royal cypher ‘ER’ and a coronet.
The posterior surface of this antique vesta case is plain and unembellished.
There is an integrated serrated panel/match striker to the underside.
This exceptional vesta case is a large example and the finest of its type you could hope to acquire.
