An exceptional, fine and impressive pair of antique Victorian English sterling silver asparagus tongs; an addition to our silver flatware collection

These exceptional, fine and impressive antique Victorian sterling silver asparagus tongs have a plain scrolling undulating form.

The surface of the antique asparagus tongs in silver is embellished with a contemporary bright cut engraved crest to the circular pivot; the impressive crest depicts a bird with outstretched wings positioned above a crown.

The elongated blades of the tongs have an undulating surface to the interior.

The pinching action of the tongs is guided by two hallmarked finger pieces with scrolling ornamentation.

Early period antique silver examples such as this are becoming increasingly difficult to locate.
