An exceptional, fine and impressive pair of antique Edwardian English sterling silver candlesticks in the Adams style; an addition to our ornamental silverware collection
These impressive antique Edwardian sterling silver candlesticks have an oval form to a knopped tapering column onto an oval spreading base, in the Adams style.
These antique English silver candlesticks have oval bell shaped capitals with flared rims and are encompassed with embossed fluted and reed decoration to the lower portion.
Each candlestick retains the original hallmarked push fit sconce with reed decoration to the moulded rim.
The knop to the upper portion of each column is encompassed with further reed decoration, reflecting that of the sconces.
The tapering knopped column of each candlestick surmounts an oval spreading base.
The oval spreading bases are further ornamented with embossed subtly concave fluted decoration.
These antique silver candlesticks have weighted bases and are fitted with the original leatherette to the underside; the sterling silver portion of the underside bears the retailer’s mark ‘Pearce & Sons’.
