A fine and impressive pair of antique George III English sterling silver Corinthian column candlesticks, part of our ornamental Georgian silverware collection.
These fine antique George III sterling silver candlesticks have Corinthian columns to a square swept base to a collet style rim.
The pierced decorated Corinthian capital of each candlestick retains the original hallmarked detachable push fit sconce.
Each sconce is ornamented with a band of embossed gadroon decoration to the rim.
The swept portions of the bases are ornamented with bands of impressive embossed gadroon ornamentation below scrolling leaf designs encompassing the plain lower portion of the columns.
Both Georgian candlesticks have weighted bases, as to be expected, and are fitted with green baize to the underside.
