This impressive antique Victorian English sterling silver three piece sterling silver tea service consists of a teapot, sugar bowl and cream jug.
The pieces of this Victorian tea set have been modelled in the Queen Anne style.
The lower portion of each piece is ornamented with alternating batwing and fluted decoration in a swirl design.
The upper rim of each piece is encompassed with an applied moulded decorated border.
The teapot is fitted with a hinged hallmarked cover, ornamented with further fluted decoration in a swirl design to the domed portion.
The teapot cover is surmounted by the original carved wood and silver topped fluted oval finial.
The teapot retains the original angular carved wood handles with scrolling thumbpiece.
The teapot is fitted with a swan necked spout embellished with fluted ornamentation to the lower portion.
The cream jug and sugar bowl have angular thread decorated silver handles.
The service is provided with six impressive teaspoons and a pair of sugar tongs.
The flatware components are each ornamented with a twisted stem and impressive shell decoration to the handle terminal, in addition to an exceptional shell design to the interior surface of the bowl.
The pieces of this antique silver tea set are fitted to the original leatherette presentation case, with a satin and velvet lined interior.
