As part of our Japanese works of art collection we are delighted to offer this stunning quality pair of Meiji period 1868-1912 , circa 1910 Cloisonné enamel vases , the Emerald green Silver wire vases unsigned but undoubtedly the work of the Hayashi workshops and likely Hayashi Kodenji II , the highly skilled artist has captured various Butterflies and Moths in a style and with a quality that is instantly recognisable , multi coloured cloissons of enamel sit between intricate silver and flattened Silver wire techniques , literally bringing the insects to life , fascinating attention to detail throughout, the colourful decoration perfectly contrasting upon an Enamel green background, each vase surmounted with Silvered mounts , an increasingly rare pair of vases from the “Golden age” of Cloisonné making during the latter part of the Meiji period, a very worthy addition to your Cloisonné enamel or Japanese works of art collection.
