Object Description
This superb George II silver and agate snuff box was made C1740 and is unmarked, it measures 2 5/8 inches in length by almost 2 inches wide and is 0.75 deep, it is engraved around the borders of the hinged lid and to the sides with a dog, a bird and a fox between other designs and to the lid there are two birds feeding with further designs around the border. It is gilded to the interior and has an agate insert to the lid and the base. It has a concealed hinge and is in very good condition with the agate being undamaged.
