Object Description
This superb quality cast bordered and armorial George II silver salver was made in London in 1752 by Thomas Gilpin, it measures 9.5 inches in dia and has a beautiful cast and pierced border of grapes and vine leaves, scrolls and shells with 4 bearded male masks above each cast foot, the feet being fashioned as scrolled acanthus leaves, it has a lovely widows coat of arms to the centre and is fully and clearly hallmarked to the back. A very nice salver in very good condition weighing 26 ounces or 810 grams.
