Object Description
This very nice engraved George II silver etui was made C1730 and is larger than the norm measuring 4 inches tall by 2 1/8 inches wide at the top and is 0.75 inches deep. It is beautifully engraved to all sides including the lid and under the base with shells, fruits, flowers and foliage, scrolls, triangles and acanthus leaves and inside there is a hexagonal faceted cannon barrel handle with scimitar steel knife blade, fruit knife blade and two prong fork separately and inside the handles is a nutmeg grater, scissors, tweezers, rat tail spoon marked H.S to the stem, ear scoop, pencil, darning needle, 6 inch folding ruler and fleam. The clasp is good and it is marked on the case with a duty mark of a fish. A superb etui in lovely condition with nice crisp engraving.
