Object Description

This superb pair of cast and crested Queen Anne Britannia silver candle sticks were made in London in 1704 by very important Huguenot silversmith David Willaume and measure 6.25 inches tall by almost 4.25 inches square across the base, they bear a widows crest of a porcupine above a chapeau with a coronet above to the well. They are octagonal in design with cut corners to the base. They are fully and clearly hallmarked under the base and have a lovely colour and patina, a beautiful early pair of sticks from an excellent maker in excellent condition weighing 25.85 ounces or 803 grams.
