Object Description

This superb quality crested octagonal Victorian silver spice castor was made by Royal Silversmith Robert Garrard in London in 1846 and measures 3.25 inches tall by 2 inches wide and is well engraved to all panels with the front one bearing the unusual crest of a camel, the pull ogg top is beautifully pierced and inside the castor and lid it is gilded with the top having a pierced liner inside to stem the flow of the spice, it is fully and clearly hallmarked underneath and is in excellent condition weighing ounces or grams.
