This exceptional sculpture depicts a falcon bird perched on a rocky crag, made from quartz specimen. The bird itself is superbly carved from a piece of marbled and veined granite, featuring a hardstone beak and coloured glass eyes, while the talons are crafted from sterling silver.
Made for the esteemed luxury watchmaker Vacheron Constantin, the falcon was crafted by sculptor Erwin Klein, who specialises in these carved bird models made from exceptional stones and materials.
Hallmarked as sterling silver on the talons ‘925’, the bird is also inscribed with ‘EK’ for Erwin Klein and features a four-leaf clover mark. The bird also includes a badge which reads ‘K. Klein / Vacheron Constantin’.
