Object Description
A set of teak and brass Campaign Shelves made to dismantle for travel.
This type of shelving was made to sit on top of a campaign chest. They dismantle easily simply by unscrewing the finials and brass columns to remove each shelf in turn. The brass sections all screw into each other with the shelves having holes to the corners for the bolts to fit through. It is a standard design and it is likely, given the 7748 – 15 reference numbers stamped to the boards, that this set was made by the Army & Navy CSL.
The set stands out a little above others in that it has a removable cresting rail and brass feet. Late 19th Century.
