Of circular form, this fine Derby porcelain cabinet plate features a gilt and latticework pierced rim, and a charming hand-painted scene in the centre. The scene, painted by celebrated porcelain painter James Rouse, depicts a shepherdess girl holding a lamb with her dress as she walks beside a ewe in an English countryside setting.
The scene is signed to the front ‘J. Rouse’ and the reverse is titled ‘The Shepherd’s Daughter’.
