Object Description
Chinese 17th Century Transitional blue and white double gourd small lidded vase. Made at the end of the Emperor Shunzhi’s reign at the kilns at Jingdezhen for export either to the Middle East or possibly western Europe.
Painted around the base with rock work, grasses and peonies below a hatched band and the upper part painted with small flowers.
The white metal is very probably silver in the Islamic style and was added at a later date.
Excellent quality and style.
