Object Description
Early Kangxi which is late Transitional pear shaped porcelain bottle vase from the kilns at Jingdezhen excellent painting, colour and potting of a difficult shape to pot.
The sides painted with intense scrolling lotus flowers and foliage and two shaped cartouches of figural landscape scenes.
One shows a shaped panel of a figure on a fishing boat in a mountainous river landscape with retreats, trees and boulders I the river. The other shows the same figure now meeting a dignitary further up the mountains next to the trees which are painted in the back ground of the previous panel. The river is now below them.
The two narrative panels are very well painted with beautiful detail
The neck is painted with plantain leaves pointed to the top. The rim is painted with the ‘cafĂ© au lait’ line.
The base is flat and typical of transitional ware
