Crafted in the Qing dynasty, these vases are of elegant baluster form with broad, trumpet necks. The rims, necks and bases are decorated with gilt banding, which complements the gold lotus flowers seen on the bodies of the vases.
These striking vases are decorated all over with cloisonne enamel, with colourful floral motifs arranged on a turquoise ground. An unusual feature of the pair is the twin upper handles, which are cast in the shape of mythical beasts. This feature is mirrored in the gilt lower handles, which form fire-breathing dragon heads.
This colourful and highly-detailed pair of vases will add great vibrancy to a room.
