Two French Rococo style glass and gilt bronze bowls
French, 20th Century
Dimensions: Height 47cm, width 61cm, depth 42cm
This pair of Louis XV Rococo style centrepiece bowls are designed to function as champagne holders, but are also charming as decorative vases. Each vase features a glass body, decorated to the rim and bottom with ornate gilt bronze mounts. The base is moulded with scrolling acanthus leaf and foliate forms, while the rim is a foliate ormolu band. The handles are similarly formed as scrolling foliate mounts, decorated with putti holding tridents.
