An unusual late 19th century amboyna and ebonised revolving book stand.
The table is mahogany with panels of amboyna veneer, ebonised and gilt decoration and a brass gallery to the lower tier.
The table top is circular with an ebonised and gilt edge and has a candlestick tray that revolves around the top.
The lower revolving book tray is also amboyna veneered with a brass rail gallery and ebonised support posts.
The table has three tapering legs with block toes and panels of amboyna veneer set in a tripod and is raised on brass and pottery casters.
This very unusual table is in good condition. (Circa 1880)
