Object Description
Van Cleef & Arpels Burmese sapphire and diamond cluster ring. Centrally set with an oval old cut natural unenhanced Burmese sapphire in an open back claw setting with an approximate weight of 5.56 carats, further adorned by seventy eight round brilliant cut diamonds in open back grain and rubover settings with an approximate combined weight of 1.50 carats, to an elegant oval bombĂ© cluster with curving claws, an intricately pierced honeycomb gallery and square open backholing, the heavy trumpeted shoulders tapering down to a solid D-shape shank. Marked 18 carat yellow gold, signed ‘VAN CLEEF & ARPELS’, maker’s mark for Van Cleef & Arpels, French, circa 1970, accompanied by Gem Research Swisslab (GRS) report #2012-102473.
