Object Description
Van Cleef & Arpels Burmese sapphire ring. Set with one cushion shape old cut natural unenhanced Burmese sapphire in an open back claw setting with an approximate weight of 13.36 carats, further set with two rectangular baguette cut diamonds in open back half rubover settings with a combined approximate weight of 0.20 carats, to an impressive solitaire design, with structured openwork collet, fancy shape backholing, gently sloping shoulders which lead through to a narrow shank. Marked platinum, signed “VAN CLEEF ARPELS”, numbered “193”, French, circa 1930, accompanied by Swiss Gemmological Institute (SSEF) report #101403.
