Object Description
A beautiful vintage gold and gem-set bracelet by Van Cleef & Arpels c. 1960s of stylised leaf twist design formed of ten uniform articulated motifs in textured fluted gold, each three-dimensional curled leaf with a central vein running through it, three links are decorated with round emeralds in claw settings and four with round brilliant diamonds, the remaining three leaves are unadorned, all in 18ct yellow gold with concealed tongue and box clasp and safety catch. This wonderful bracelet has an almost sculptural quality to it and the undulating form of the curled and twisting leaf motifs creates a lovely naturalistic sense of movement to the piece despite its stylised form. The emerald and diamond highlights add colour and sparkle and the overall effect is really very beautiful.
