Object Description

This very nice Elizabeth I silver apostle spoon of St Peter was made in London in 1574 by the makers mark of a cross over a mullet and measures 7 1/8 inches in length and has the engraved initials GL T IM to the back of the bowl. The apostle is gilded and quite well defined and has a pierced rays of glory nimbus and the spoon is marked in the bowl with the leopards head and to the back of the stem with the date letter, makers mark and lion passant, the bowl is well formed with no major signs of wear and it is in very good condition weighing 1.65 ounces or 52 grams.
