Object Description

This extremely rare and large Victorian cast silver lion rampant inkwell was made in London in 1849 by the Foxes and measures 5.5 inches tall by over 2 inches at its widest and is 3 inches at its deepest, it is finely modelled and has glass eyes and is leaning on a scrolled shield – it has a hinged lid and is hallmarked inside the head and also fully and clearly hallmarked to the base. A superb piece of Victorian workmanship in super condition weighing 8.5 ounces or 265 grams.
