Circa 1850, mid Victorian carved and gilded walnut waterfall bookcase. With solid walnut top and the 3 shelves are divided into 2 sections. Flanked by pilasters carved with rondels and flower heads featuring gilded bezels. The top shelf has a patterned edge in carved walnut and gilding and the second shelf is slightly larger finishing with a gilded fore-edge and half-round moulding. The front of the shelves is in polished walnut and the carving and gilding continues round the sides of the bookcase and it stands on an enclosed plinth base.
