Object Description

Victorian cast iron fox head door stop, circa 1880. This kind of doorstop was popular in England in the late 19th century and would have been placed against the door with snout pointing upward. These doorstops took the form of traditional stirrup cups which would have been in the form of a foxes head and drunk down in one during a hunt.
