Object Description
Victorian diamond and enamel snake pendant. Set to centre with a cushion shape old mine diamond in an open back cut-down setting with an approximate weight of 2.20 carats, further set with two round rose cut diamonds in closed back grain and rubover settings with a combined weight of 0.02 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 2.22 carats, to a coiled blue enamel serpent design featuring gold detailing, engraved stylised scales to reverse, and open and closed backholing, accompanied by a fine chain, pendant 2.5cm in length, chain approximately 18″ in length. Tested yellow gold and silver, circa 1870.
