A delightful one-off table cabinet in the form of a cylinder top desk, from the Arts & Crafts period. In mahogany, with elaborate decorative inlay in satinwood, mahogany and ebony. With pagoda shaped top.
Cylinder top lifts up to reveal two small drawers with ebony knobs. Below, double cupboard doors open to reveal three full width drawers with brass handles.
Possibly an apprentice piece. Or a cabinet maker’s sample which he would have taken with him to show prospective clients the different techniques and effects he could do.
