Object Description

Late Victorian timepiece in a break arch mahogany case with satinwood line inlay and standing on bun feet.

Enamel dial with Roman numerals and original ‘blued’ steel hands,

Eight day French movement with platform escapement signed ‘Maple & Co Ltd, Paris’ and numbered 589. C.1890

‘Watchmakers and clockmakers of the world’ by Brian Loomes lists Maple & Co Ltd as working in both Paris and London from 1880-1905.
