Object Description
Victorian sapphire and diamond triple cluster ring. Set to centre with a cushion shape natural unenhanced sapphire in an open back grain setting with a weight of 1.05 carats, flanked by two cushion shape natural unenhanced sapphires in open back grain settings with a combined weight of 0.90 carats, further adorned by twenty eight round old cut diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined approximate weight of 0.85 carats. The total approximate sapphire weight is 1.95 carats, to a triple cluster design featuring curving claws, an intricately pierced gallery and fancy open backholing, the trumpeting shoulders flowing to a solid D-shape shank. Tested yellow gold, circa 1880, accompanied by Gemmological Services report #78168-45.
