A good hunting flask, conical shape with silver top and bayonet fitting, contained in original leather case. The silver top is hallmark Sheffield 1896 with makers mark ‘JD & S’. The saddle flask’s leather holster has straps at the top and base so that it can be attached to the saddle. The flap lid closes with an eye over a stud. The flask is in excellent original condition.
The JD & S is most probably the mark of James Dixon & Sons, but could be another Sheffield manufacturer, James Deakin & Sons.
