Wedgwood Majolica Dolphin/Fish Oyster Plate

Object Description

Wedgwood Majolica which features five fish around a central well. White ground version. Colouration: white, grey, yellow, are predominant. The piece bears maker’s marks for the Wedgwood pottery. Bears a pattern number, ‘2754’. English diamond registration mark for the date 1878. Marks include a factory specific date cipher for the year 1879.

Object Condition

Good. Some small flakes to the rim and underside. Slight wear to top of fish heads. Small stain in one well. RESTORATION. Filled chip to one foot, on the reverse.
