Welsh oak bureau cabinet.

Object Description

An unusual Welsh oak bureau cabinet. The top with moulded cornice above two raised panel doors with brass H hinges,each crossbanded in walnut and having inlaid holly and bog oak stars, opening to reveal interior shelves. The base with fall front inlaid with a star and matching the top, fitted interior, above one shallow drawer with lopers either side, two short and three long drawers all crossbanded in walnut and retaining their original handles and escutcheons.Standing on short bracket feet.

Object Condition

Fine colour and patina, a good piece of country furniture, the pine backboards of the bureau have been replaced some time ago, otherwise in great order.
