Object Description
An extremely fine Western Asiatic restrung necklace composed of carnelian beads displaying different hues of warm orange, two pale pink agate oval beads towards the centre and a large central dark red jasper bead, featuring alluring white veins in the stone. Smaller disc shaped beads are interspersed between the larger oval beads, which are smaller and round at each end of the necklace and grow larger towards the centre. Six composite gold beads featuring rows of very fine granulation in slightly different shapes alternate with the stone ones towards the centre. A modern gold clasp completes the necklace. A very elegant piece, with vividly and luminous coloured stone beads.
