Object Description
A very fine Western Asiatic restrung necklace composed of large, colourful banded agate beads. Towards the clasp, the beads are rhombic in shape, alternating between larger and smaller stones. They increase in size towards a centrepiece of a long grey banded agate bead, adorned with white and blue striations situated horizontally. Six gold spacers are interspersed between the beads either side of the centrepiece. They each feature a barrel-shape and a double band of granulated spheres at either end. The beads display a variety of hues, including cream, pink, white, grey and brown, each with unique striations. Some wear and small indentations to the beads, consistent with age. The piece has been finished with a modern gold-plated clasp (please note that the clasp has not been professionally tied).
