Object Description
A rare James MacIntyre & Sons art pottery twin handled vase decorated in the blue cornflower pattern by William Moorcroft (British, 1872-1945) and dated 1898. This wonderful early example has a tall slightly conical shaped round body with a wide base and narrow top and applied with two simple loop handles to either side. The body of the vase is beautifully desecrated with large tubelined cornflower blooms in blue with white highlights and set against a green ground with the pattern repeated to both sides of the vase. The vase has a William Moorcroft signature mark to the base along with a printed registration number dating the vase to 1898. A stunning and rare example.
